Porsche Porn
We recently crowned the Porsche Cayman R our Car of the Year at ZOO Magazine. This meant I had the chance to hop inside the stripped out racer for some bespoke photography from my man Doug Rimmington at Detune Photography (ignore all the fashion stuff, this man takes a mean motoring snap shot!).The red beauty transported me and the lovely girlfriend up to North Norfolk for the weekend in true style. Yes, it doesn’t even have door handles let alone enough padding to keep the bum cheeks from bruising but none of that matters. This machine boasts blistering pace and acceleration that gives the illusion you’re driving a supercar, not a mid-range Porsche. The first real test for these mules comes when I open the taps on the slip road to the A12, which is only a stones throw from the garage door. The Cayman R took me by surprise as the back wheels kicked out and kicked up plumes of brick-dust from the road surface, maybe pinning the pedal from a rolling start wasn’t such a good idea.
Luckily, the clever traction control kicked in just in time, ensuring the better half lived to see the sunny sights of Southwold. But that’s enough yapping, the car is truly amazing and so are these pictures from Mr Rimmington. Sit back, relax and drink in the lovely Porsche…
The photos emphasise the very best features of the car if you ask me – I have never been the biggest fan of Porsche’s love for the “bug eye” headlights, but somehow Doug’s photo makes them look like they were born to front a mean machine. The curves all aligned – pretty smoooooth.
Liking his photography. To be honest, ignore the fashion stuff at your peril – the girls are just as worthy and curvy as this sweet car.
My favourite shot is the seatbelt loop – though I’m not sure it’s a seatbelt? It’s the photo following the headlight…
Bet the drive was mean! I think the pinning was in hindsight a superb idea – and my guess is it was the first of many
I’m signing off to go check out some Porsche hire companies…!
