Evoque some emotion
Roman tyre manufacturers Marangoni entrust Blokesincars with the keys to their pimped up Range Rover Evoque… and this time we didn’t kerb the very expensive alloy wheels. (more…)
Juking it out
The Nissan GT-R is a tarmac-devouring, supercar-beating slice of engineering genius that has petrol nuts around the world pinning up posters and courting thoughts of selling off the family home to own one. But now, Nissan has gone one step further and slapped all that’s great about the GT-R into their affordable, cheeky Juke- a sort of half 4X4, half hatchback crossover. (more…)
Porsche Porn
We recently crowned the Porsche Cayman R our Car of the Year at ZOO Magazine. This meant I had the chance to hop inside the stripped out racer for some bespoke photography from my man Doug Rimmington at Detune Photography (ignore all the fashion stuff, this man takes a mean motoring snap shot!). (more…)
Cruze Control with Rob Huff
A family hatchback that’s capable of returning 50.4 miles per gallon while having enough space in the boot for a pram and the weekly shop probably isn’t the best vehicle to be throwing around Bedford Autodrome. But Chevrolet World Touring Car driver Rob Huff invited us down to polish our driving skills and prove that this “reasonably priced car” can hold its own on track. (more…)
Kahn’s Big Pimping Range Rover RS300
Footballers aren’t content with spending thousands of their not-so hard earned cash on flash new motors, so instead they heap more dollar personalising, styling and pimping their cars to lavish levels. The latest beast to roll out of Azfal Khan’s glorious factory is the Range Rover RS300, sporting a lower front bumper, rubber side steps and tasty quad exhaust pipes. (more…)
Nissan 370Z GT Edition Tested!
Nissan’s front-engined, rear-wheel drive monster has been a firm favourite among car-humpers for some time now. (more…)
VW’s Monster Truck!
Pick up trucks are cool. They give off a macho aroma that makes other road users cower behind their steering wheels like shivering whippets. (more…)
Citroen DS4 Driven!
Citroen has gone and got all trendy over recent years with a brand new styling direction and a DS range that’s sporty, sexy and aimed at a younger, corduroy-trouser avoiding audience. (more…)
Ken Block is back!
I’ve been gone a while but this is worth it. Ken Block’s Gymkhana 4. The most awesome Block video yet… (more…)
Kahn I get a Rewind…
The Audi TT can be called many things (a hairdresser’s car, gay on wheels, bum burgler-mobile) but the one thing it can’t be called is dull. Yes, the engine may not pack the punch of some of Audi’s bigger motors but the TT has always had a certain aesthetic attraction.
The World’s Most Ferocious Hybrid
Renowned Honda tuners Mugen have got their oily paws on the recently released, planet-saving CR-Z and the results, we think you’ll agree, are mildly arousing.
Mental, Mental Bentley Continental
Wander around any Premier League training ground and we can guarantee you will find a handful of shiny Bentley Continentals littering the car park. The car has been the choice for footballers and celebs alike since its launch back in 2003, purely because it is one of the most luxurious vehicles available to man but packs enough performance to put a massive grin on the driver’s face when the mood takes. (more…)
Fiery MINI Cooper SD Tested!
Think diesel engines and images of tractors, white vans and your old man’s trusty runaround might flash before your eyes. But MINI want to do away with all these horrible misconceptions with their new range of fiery little hot hatches. (more…)
Renault’s new Zoe gets a good spanking
Petrolheads everywhere are quietly sobbing into their chamois leathers at the thought of an impending electronic revolution. But as the cost of car ownership is rapidly becoming laughable, driving around in futuristic battery-operated vehicles might be the <only> answer. (more…)
Hardcore Cayman R Driven!
The new Cayman R is a petrol head’s moist dream. Massive cooling scoops pepper the bodywork, nylon pull handles grace the doors and a 3.4 litre engine kicks out a bum-bursting 330bhp… oh and there’s a price tag of a relatively reasonable £51k (nearly £20k cheaper than a 911). (more…)
VW’s glimpse into the future
Car manufacturers are furiously scurrying around, trying to find ways to stop the earth from slowly melting and VW might just have the answer to our travel troubles. The new XL1 concept is a massive leap into the future and not just in the styling department. (more…)
Marangoni’s Green-tyred Alfa
Every year the lads at Italian tyre firm Marangoni take an already nippy motor and turn it into a tarmac-devouring beast. Previous offerings have included a devastating Nissan 370Z that ran on water and a bonkers 600+bhp Toyota Yaris. This year’s motor is by far the sexiest. (more…)
The Mad Merc!
The idea that students like to play pranks isn’t a new one. Nicking cones and sticking them on their heads, posting rape alarms through letterboxes and whacking 5.5 litre V8 engines into family cars. (more…)
2010: The year Peugeot got cool
I can see this being one of those posts where a load of die-hard Peugeot fans go completely mental, soil themselves and then rage on about how brilliant Peugeots are and always have been. Well, they’re not… (more…)
My Xmas Wish List
Consider the following list of beautiful cars as a sort of round-up of 2010 but more like a really sad imaginary Christmas wish list, the sort of list a nine-year-old child would scrawl using one of those retard pens with the special triangle grip. Motoring PR’s if you’re reading (probably not) feel free to wrap me up a supercar and pop it under my tree this Christmas. Thanks. (more…)
Fear and Loathing at the MPH Motor Show

This year’s MPH Motorshow started out quite normally. Myself and snapper/photographer/lens man (whatever you want to call him) Kev arrived slightly later than expected, strolling through the grandiose doors of Earl’s Court just after the frantic buzz of the MG6 launch had died down. I’m lying, no one cared about the MG6 launch, there was no frantic buzz, just lots of balding men and the aroma of a World of Warcraft convention. (more…)
Getting to grips with the future
There are loads of ways you can save our crumbling planet. Quit that nasty habit of burning mounds of tyres, give up kicking icebergs into the sea or you could simply pop to your local dealers and buy a Hybrid car. “Oh no, not a Hybrid” we hear you sob as a stringy bogey dangles from the end of your nose. “They’re rubbish and slow and look stupid and don’t handle very well and they smell weird”. Yes, yes, take a deep breath, it’s really not all bad as Honda have just unleashed the CR-Z- a Hybrid car that is none of the above. (more…)
Dad goes for a spin in the new Jaguar XKR
The old man drives a Skoda. Now, I’m not about to go on some massive rant about how rubbish Skoda’s are because they really aren’t. In fact the modern Skoda is just about the most sensible car purchase a 49 year-old man with two young children can make. (more…)
The race for pace
Man forever strives to create the biggest, fastest, most powerful thing on the planet, that’s what makes humankind so great, our hunger to be the best. We’ve put men on the moon, we’ve built bridges that straddle seemingly impossible chasms and we’ve created production cars that hit 250 mph (I say ‘we’ve’, I’ve had nothing to do with any of them, too busy really) (more…)
