Picture the scene. A hot summer’s day, a cool underground car park. The keys to a large Lexus in your hands. Sweat dripping from the brow after vigorously manoeuvring the giant boat into a tight space- then the whir of the motorised gates makes you spin around. A loud and raspy voice bounces of the walls. “Yar, no, that’s what I said Tarquin. Yar, exactly, what a complete poof. HA HA HA HA!”
Retro Road Trip: In search of the great French road
“Hello is this Leon speaking” says the young lady in a very meek voice. “Yes it is, how can I help?” I reply. “Erm, you know the Nissan 350Z you had booked in for the next two weeks? Well the journalist who borrowed it before you has managed to destroy the clutch so I’m afraid we can’t loan you anything” blurted the young lady in an extremely flustered tone. I sensed she might want to get off the phone before I verbally erupted so I did my best to pretend all was OK and let her go.
